# zicula-cron-alert-kit — free sample (what's inside)

Three real pieces from the full Cron and Job Alert Kit, **trimmed to taste** —
enough to judge the quality, not enough to run alerting:

- `monitors-sample.js` — the complete `settings` block plus 1 of the 3 demo
  monitors from `config/monitors.js`, the one file every buyer edits. Same
  style, same comments, same arming rules (`enabled: false` until the first
  real ping). The full file ships all three demo monitors (shell crontab,
  GitHub Actions, n8n) and the six-state legend.
- `github-actions-sample.yml` — the scheduled-workflow integration with the
  success heartbeat, verbatim from `integrations/github-actions.yml` (1 of 5
  integration files in the kit). The full version adds the `/fail` heartbeat
  path and the repository-secret setup notes.
- `evaluate-monitor-excerpt.md` — the state reference table plus the
  `evaluateMonitor()` classifier verbatim from `worker/cron-alert-worker.mjs`,
  the pure function the kit's 18-test Node selftest exercises. The full
  worker adds the ping receiver, evaluator, alert delivery (webhook /
  Telegram / email), `/status` page, SVG badges, and `/healthz`.

## What the full kit adds (not in this sample)

- The worker itself (~435 lines, zero npm dependencies): `GET/POST
  /ping/<uuid>` (+`/fail`), the 5-minute evaluator, alert delivery for
  generic webhooks (JSON/Slack/Discord), your Telegram bot, and email via
  your own Resend account, with recovery notices and cooldown re-alerts.
- `wrangler.toml` — deploy config with the KV binding and `*/5` cron trigger.
- `worker/selftest.mjs` — 18 plain-Node logic tests (never-ran, late,
  missed, failing, recovery, cooldown, clamping).
- 4 more integration files: Vercel Cron route pattern, Cloudflare Cron
  Trigger pattern, n8n recipe (HTTP Request + Error Trigger), and a generic
  shell wrapper for crontab.
- `README-buyer.md` — the ~15-minute setup walkthrough with a
  troubleshooting table, plus `MANIFEST.md` and the single-buyer license.

## Try the sample in one minute

```sh
node --check monitors-sample.js   # it's plain ES module syntax
cat evaluate-monitor-excerpt.md   # the classifier the tests run against
```
